Aveeno Baby

Hello blogging world!  Yes I know I haven’t blogged in over a month or so.  I swear I have a good excuse.  =)  Obviously I have a newborn in the house who needs my attention so that is why I haven’t been able to blog much lately.  Another reason would be that I will moving soon so I have been getting all of our belongings packed early so when we do move it’ll be much easier.  Anyways that’s enough about what’s happening in my life now on to the blogging.

Like I stated above I have a two month old almost three months now who recently started getting red, itchy, dry splotches on his face.  Mainly on his cheeks and the sides of his head is where the splotches turned up.  I’m not sure if it’s the weather but I noticed this a week or so ago and I hoped it would just go away.  After waiting about a week I had had enough.  It wasn’t going away and it actually looked like it was getting worse.

Friday November 5th we went to Fort Smith to go check out Toys R Us and have dinner.  After dinner we went to Wal-Mart to get some things for my husband.  While he was searching for his things I decided to go look for a lotion of some sort for Leonidus’s splotches.  The baby section had so many lotions I didn’t really know what to pick up.  I ended up picking up the Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion which is fragrance free and pediatrician recommended.  On the bottle it claims to help heal and protect delicate skin and moisturizes for up to 24 hours.

I used it the next day right after I brought baby Leonidus out of his tube.  I noticed that a few hours after I put the lotion on the redness disappeared and his skin was smoothing out and he didn’t reach to itch his face anymore.  After two day his face was almost back to how it was before his face started getting dry and itchy.  I was so amazed!  I love using this product on his face and do regular spot treatments on his face where it’s dryer and redder.  For any mommies out there who have children or infants with delicate and sensitive skin I strongly suggest this for the winter months when its cold and windy making your child’s face dry and itchy.  I’ve only had this for a few days and I am completely satisfied with it because it is true to what it claims.  It is definitely something worth buying no matter what the price.

My First Julep Maven (November Julep Maven Box)

I’ve been debating if I wanted to start up with Julep Maven after I saw someones blog post on them but I never did.  However, they recently had a code where you pay only $5.00 and not the whole $19.99 for your first month.  This was too good for me to pass up since all the products in the Julep Maven box is worth up to $60 the first month and $40 every month after that.  So yes I caved in and ordered my first Julep Maven box.  I ordered on the second of November and it shipped on the fourth which was Friday.  I received my Julep Maven box today which is the seventh so I do have to say that shipping is super-fast!

Well the first step to getting your Julep Maven is that you have to take a style quiz which groups you into one of a few types of Julep Maven boxes.  I happen to an “It-Girl.”  From there you order your Julep Maven box and pick how you want it shipped.  For example if you want it shipped via USPS, UPS, and so on, they give you plenty of options but I opted for the regular First Class USPS.  It still made it to me in less than a week so I would rather just go with this option to make things easier in the future.  Each month after your first Julep Maven box they send you an email with your customized sneak peek Box.  You can either opt to “Skip the Month,” request a “New Shelf Pull,” or “Send My Box to a Girlfriend.”  However, you have to do either one of these by the 25th of each month so be careful not to forget or you’ll be charged $19.99 on the 27th of each month.

Now onto what I received for my first month of being a Maven!  I received two nail varnishes in the colors Emilie and Sienna.  Emilie just happens to be a gorgeous teal green color.  Sienna is a color I’m not so sure of.  At times it looks like a shimmery gold and at times it looks like shimmery silver.  The consistencies to the varnishes do seem to be a little bit on the wetter side but they dry rather quickly and beautifully.  I haven’t done any swatches on my finger nails but I did try them on one of toes and it looks rather nice.  I will definitely be putting up swatches of them on my finger nails after the polish on my nails right now start peeling.  In the box there was also the Julep “Facial for Hands” Glycolic Hand Scrub and two samples.  One of which is the sample size of the “Facial for Hands” and the other is a sample size of their Julep “Everyday SPF” hand cream in SPF 30.   I have not used either of which so I will be getting back to you on that whenever I end up using it.  And no I do not like to use things with actually needing to so you’re going to have to wait and I’ll talk to you guys at a later time.
