My First Julep Maven (November Julep Maven Box)

I’ve been debating if I wanted to start up with Julep Maven after I saw someones blog post on them but I never did.  However, they recently had a code where you pay only $5.00 and not the whole $19.99 for your first month.  This was too good for me to pass up since all the products in the Julep Maven box is worth up to $60 the first month and $40 every month after that.  So yes I caved in and ordered my first Julep Maven box.  I ordered on the second of November and it shipped on the fourth which was Friday.  I received my Julep Maven box today which is the seventh so I do have to say that shipping is super-fast!

Well the first step to getting your Julep Maven is that you have to take a style quiz which groups you into one of a few types of Julep Maven boxes.  I happen to an “It-Girl.”  From there you order your Julep Maven box and pick how you want it shipped.  For example if you want it shipped via USPS, UPS, and so on, they give you plenty of options but I opted for the regular First Class USPS.  It still made it to me in less than a week so I would rather just go with this option to make things easier in the future.  Each month after your first Julep Maven box they send you an email with your customized sneak peek Box.  You can either opt to “Skip the Month,” request a “New Shelf Pull,” or “Send My Box to a Girlfriend.”  However, you have to do either one of these by the 25th of each month so be careful not to forget or you’ll be charged $19.99 on the 27th of each month.

Now onto what I received for my first month of being a Maven!  I received two nail varnishes in the colors Emilie and Sienna.  Emilie just happens to be a gorgeous teal green color.  Sienna is a color I’m not so sure of.  At times it looks like a shimmery gold and at times it looks like shimmery silver.  The consistencies to the varnishes do seem to be a little bit on the wetter side but they dry rather quickly and beautifully.  I haven’t done any swatches on my finger nails but I did try them on one of toes and it looks rather nice.  I will definitely be putting up swatches of them on my finger nails after the polish on my nails right now start peeling.  In the box there was also the Julep “Facial for Hands” Glycolic Hand Scrub and two samples.  One of which is the sample size of the “Facial for Hands” and the other is a sample size of their Julep “Everyday SPF” hand cream in SPF 30.   I have not used either of which so I will be getting back to you on that whenever I end up using it.  And no I do not like to use things with actually needing to so you’re going to have to wait and I’ll talk to you guys at a later time.
