My Sunday Afternoon

Hey guys, so today I put on makeup!  Yeah I know I'm not going to announce it every time I put on makeup but I just felt like saying so today.  Normally I don't put on makeup because I feel exhausted but I guess that just comes with being pregnant. =) Well anyways I was taking photos earlier so I just wanted to share.
Top photos is before I changed out of my PJs and bottom photo is after.
Me being pregnant I wanted pizza so my hubby and I ended up going to Pizza Hut!  Yay! =) I usually don't like eating out but today was an exception...I was craving...which is something I don't have very often even though I'm pregnant.  So every time I do get a craving I jump to it. =)
 Yummy Pizza!

Random Nail Art Design

Okay...so I started doing my nails yesterday but didn't really get to finish them.  I finished my left hand yesterday and then ended up going fishing with my husband when he got home.  However, I did my right hand this morning so now I'm just sharing photos of my nail design.  Yes, I am using fimo nail art again.  If you're wondering if I bite my nails its no.  My nails are short because I prefer them to be short.
Obviously top photo is my left hand and bottom photo is my right hand.
Again this nail design was really simple.  If you read my blog at all you know I like simple and colorful designs.  To start off with this design you might want to get rid of any prior nail designs or polish.  Then clip and file your nails to your desired length.  I like my nails short but this design would look even more amazing on long nails.  Apply a base coat and let dry.  Using a cosmetic sponge, lightly dab 3/4s of the way down your nail to get a gradient effect.  If you want you can use the same color on all your nails instead of using different colors like I did.  Taking a nail art polish draw in random circles and dots.  Use any kind of fimo nail art that coordinates with your base color and apply with a clear polish.  Make sure to use the clear polish before and after you put on the fimo.  If you don't put the clear polish on before the fimo will not stick well and if you don't put it on after your fimo nail art will curl.  Do Not Skip the clear polish step!  If you want you can apply rhinestones on some or one of your circles but again this is optional.  Apply a top coat and your done!  I hope you enjoy doing this nail design as much as I did.

At Academy

The other day, which was Thursday the 23rd my hubby and I were in Fort Smith for my office visit.  After my office visit we went to Academy which is a sports goods outlet.  This is mainly where we get his sports stuff like soccer shoes, soccer clothes, soccer balls.

The first thing he goes looking at are the soccer cleats.  Even though he has three pairs of perfectly good cleats he wants a new pair.  He's such a spoiled brat! =) We ended up spending two and a half hours sitting at Academy looking at and trying on practically every pair of men's soccer cleats that they had.  I'm not a patient person but for some reason I dealt with the boredom.  I think it was the face my husband had the whole time he was trying them on.  He looked so happy and calm.  We ended up buying him a pair of Puma soccer cleats which he's totally in love with and happy to have so it wasn't all for nothing.  The best thing was is that they were only $39.99.  The soccer cleats fit perfect, don't slip on him, are breathable, and have studs in good places so there's no pressure on any one part of his feet, unlike the Nike's and Addidas cleats.

Well you know how men are with their sports gear.  He wanted to get a soccer ball.  I said no even though he really wanted one.  Mainly because all his soccer balls that we've bought him have either been stolen or popped.  We still ended up leaving the store with him pretty happy about his brand new pair of soccer cleats.  I will never forget the big smile he had on his face leaving the store. =)
These aren't the pair we bought him...these were just a pair he was trying on.

BTW...now he wants to go to A to Z...another sporting goods store with a lot more variety including fishing gear...I think I'm about to go insane with his obsession for sports!  Just kidding...they're good hobbies.

Week 29/Office Visit

End of week 29 really sucked for me.  For the past couple of days I've been feeling dizzy and nauseous after breakfast.  I woke up thinking it would be fine and I ate cereal with my husband.  On the drive to the clinic I started feeling nauseous, light headed, dizzy.  When we got to the clinic I was feeling sick to the point where I could barely walk. My husband had to hold me up while we walked in and up to the second floor.  I signed in and went to the bathroom to freshen up a little.  It didn't really work out because the bathroom was warm and made me feel even worse.  My face was drained of its color and I looked as white as a ghost.  We went back and sat in the waiting room for some time and I made several trips to the bathroom because I  really felt like puking in my husbands lap.  Every time I got to the bathroom my nausea would subside and I would go back and sit down.  After about thirty minutes of running to and from the bathroom the whole nauseous feeling subsided and the coloring to my face returned.  By the time my name was called I had completely recovered from what ever it was that I was feeling and I went to one of the back rooms.

My new weight for this week was 160.  My husband made fun of me saying that's his normal soccer weight.  What he said upset me but I really didn't care.  As long as my baby was healthy I would be happy to gain another twenty.  We sat in the room for about five or ten minutes before my doctor came in.  She did the normal checking on baby's heart beat and measuring my tummy and asking if I had any questions or concerns.  I asked about my nausea and dizziness and she said that if its after having cereal then it's basically just a sugar high.  She didn't exactly say it was a sugar high but in short terms that's what she meant.  She just told me to balance out my sugars and my proteins.  So all in all I learned a lot from my day at the clinic even when I felt like crap...and looked creepy.  My husband and I get so excited every time we get to hear baby's heart beat.  Just another two months and he's here!

A Day In Hot Springs, AR

This weekend I went to go see my mother who lives just 30 minutes south of Hot Springs, AR.  It was a long two hour ride there but it was well worth the trip.  Saturday after picking up eggs from the chicken houses my mother decided she wanted to eat out.  My mom and brothers all love buffet so we went to King's Buffet.  If you live in Hot Springs and you don't know where it is...it's on Central Ave across the street from Kroger's and CiCi's pizza.  I didn't really eat much other than watermelon and a little bit of food here and there.  I personally don't like eating at King's Buffet because their food tends to be either greasy, bland, or over salted but I can't say no to my mom.

After eating out we went next door to the antique shop to work off some weight. =) Every single time I go into the antique shop I just feel so excited.  I know I'm not going to buy anything but I like looking at old stuff because they are so unique.  After an hour or two we finally set our hearts to leaving the antique shop with only two items which where both purchased by my mother.  She bought a duffel bag and a purse.  The duffel bag had really neat sewed in floral designs and the purse had little cherries all over it.  My mother loves cherries.

The next stop was at the water fountain.  My family and I have been going to this water fountain since we moved to Arkansas four years back.  I think this was the first thing that we explored.  Hot Springs is a natural spring so all the water that comes up is pretty much clean but it is still filtered where people fill their jugs.  Many people from all around the state and states next to Arkansas come just to fill up a couple of jugs of Hot Spring's filtered water.  It really is the best kind of water.  Once you've tasted Hot Springs water you'll never drink bottled water again because it's just that great.

We went to Pet Smart looking for Kois and pearl scales but they didn't have any "nice" ones according to my husband.  We ended up going to Wal-Mart afterwards to look for some stuff.  My mom and my brothers ended going home first because my mom wasn't feeling well.  My husband and I bought a 5 piece card table and chair set.  I'm glad we bought our table and chair set because if we bought a normal dining table and chair set it wouldn't be able to fit in our kitchen.  I never thought our kitchen was that small but now I know. =)  Sadly I didn't take any photos of Saturdays adventures but I'll make sure to remember next time.

Week 28

At 28 weeks pregnant there are just too many things that that are driving me crazy and many simple things that make me smile.  The aches and pains, the swelling, the hot summer weather, and the tingly feeling in my legs.  I guess it's just the whole hormones thing.

There are so many pains and aches that I never felt during any other week before this week.  My back aches every so often that drives me nuts.  Laying on one side for a minute feels great and then it turns into a slight back pain or side ache.  It's so frustrating being pregnant sometimes, I swear.

My feet swell up so easily that I don't want to go anywhere or do anything.  However, I do try being healthy by walking around the house as much as possible and take a 10 to 30 minute walk every now and then if possible.  I don't like walking around during the day because of the scorching sun so I wait until my husband gets home from work.  Normally its 5:00 or 6:00 pm by the time he comes home.  By then the hot sun is starting to set and the nightly coolness is starting to seep in.  We walk normally to the creek but if my feet swell up badly we turn around before we get there.  Lately my hands have started swelling up on me too.  It only happens when I go for walks and my arms are dangling down, other than that they are pretty much normal.

I HATE THIS TINGLY FEELING IN MY LEGS!  I always feel like there is something crawling on my leg.  You know that feeling you get when there is a spider web on you but you can't see it and you can't get it off.  This is the same feeling...only I feel it very often...around my legs.

I think the worse thing in the world though is the ARKANSAS WEATHER.  It's hot and humid plus there is basically no wind.  Worse kind of weather ever!  I can not take the heat of the sun, the stickiness of sweat, and the humidity of the day when there is no wind to blow me dry.  Bad weather makes me cranky and I think my husband knows that first hand.  If you're wondering...no, I don't do it on purpose to be mean.

The only thing that makes me smile at the end of the day...is my kicking baby.  =)  It's so hard not to smile.  Especially when his arm, leg, head, or other part of his body is moving across your belling.  It's so cute and weird at the same time! =)  I LOVE HIM SO MUCH ALREADY!  I can't wait till he is here!
ALWAYS SMILE!

Fruity Nails

I wasn't planning on using my fimo slices anytime soon but being that I was home alone and bored on Sunday I ended up doing a nail design.  The fimo nail design is on only my right hand because my left hand still has my soot ball design.  It was too cute to get rid of so I left it.  Anyways this is the design I came up with after slicing my fimo canes.

(I wasn't sure if you could see the detail so I took two photos just in case)
This nail design is really basic just like my soot ball design.  All I put on was a base coat, two coats of a base color, a couple of my fimo fruit slices, and a couple coats of top coat to hold the fimo fruit slices down so they don't curl up.  Using a white varnish I put some dots around the sides of my nails so the fimo fruit slices wouldn't look so lonely.  I then applied another coat of top coat just to finish everything off.

Fimo Cane Package From China

After waiting for a little less than two weeks I finally received my package.  I bought 100 Fimo Canes + a blade for only $6.00 and that was plus shipping and handling.  It was a great deal!  It has 100 different designs so I was happy that I didn't get any duplicates.  The only upsetting thing that I found was that there was a single very funny looking cane.  I didn't know what it was supposed to be because it looked like part of it was missing.  Other than that I was happy with my overall buy.
 (The original packaging)
(Flowers and Fruit canes)

(Butterfly and other random canes)

If you're wondering why I haven't put the fimo nail art on my nails yet, its because I just did my nails.  I did my nails in the morning and didn't check the mail until about 8:00 that night.  However, I am thinking of a nail design for my newly bought fimo canes and I can't wait to use them!

Soot Ball/ Sprites Nail Art

Thumbs up if you like Spirited Away!

I swear every time I get bored I end up doing something to my nails.  My nails were inspired by Spirited Away.  After watching the cartoon I decided I wanted to do something with my nails and this is what I came up with.
It was a very simple pink or yellow base color with white stripes going down and across the nail.  I then dotted on the soot balls with a black varnish and white varnish for their eyes.  I went back in with the black varnish for their pupils and went over everything with a top coat.  It was a very simple, easy, and cute nail design especially if you love Spirited Away.

Items I Regret Buying

(picture of all the things I regret buying)

#1 Revitalizing Pomegranate Green Tea Shampoo & Conditioner
My top most regretful buy would be the pomegranate green tea shampoo and conditioner by Organix.  This stuff seriously killed not only my hair but also my husbands hair.  The packaging was cute and the smell of the product was nice too so we ended up buying this instead of our normal shampoo and conditioner thinking it would do what it said on the bottle.

"Revitalize your senses with sensual and exotic antioxidant rich organic pomegranate extracts and green tea which target dry and brittle hair while awakening follicles to create a clean and rejuvenating experience, adding a brilliant and luminescent shine."

However, after about a day of using this product my head started itching.  After two or three days my hair started to look dry, dull, dead, and frizzier than normal.  After about a week my head started flaking and my head began to scab up from all the scratching and itchiness.  As soon as I noticed the scabs I went to the store and bought our regular shampoo and conditioner that we normally use.  It took a day or two for my head to stop itching and flaking, about a whole week and a half for my scabs to heal, and about a month for my hair to get back to its original state.  I was so upset with this product I'm amazed I didn't throw it in the trash.  I ended up throwing it under the bathroom sink and forgetting about it until I went down there looking for our Drano Gel for the kitchen sink.

#2 Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black
When they said liquid I didn't think they really meant liquid as in water.  The consistency of the liquid liner is basically like water, runny!  It's color is supposed to be blackest black but it's not even black.  Its more of a runny, water like gray.  The liquid liner is so runny that it washes away my eyeshadow where ever I run the eye liner.

#3 Revlon Grow Luscious By Fabulash
I bought this item because I have really short eye lashes.  I hated this product after about the first use because for one the brush sucks.  I can't even get the brush close to my eyes basically without poking my eyes out.  Secondly the product totally doesn't even make your lashes grow when it says "GROW" luscious.  For the third thing the consistency of the mascara is very dry and clumpy.  Every time I manage to put the mascara on it dries out and starts to flak off and fly into my eyes.  My eyes end up getting so irritated that I just end up washing off all my makeup and end up looking like I have pink eye.  It's a horrible product and because of my history with crappy Revlon products I just completely stopped buying all Revlon products.

#4 Waterproof LashGrip Eyelash Adhesive
This product just sucks in general.  It says on the packaging that it's "waterproof."  It's not even close to being water resistant and even less waterproof.  It also says it's supposed to dry "clear" which it also doesn't do.  It ends up looking an off white color and makes you look like you got something on your eyes.  The formula for the adhesive is so weak my eyelashes tend to droop and make my eyes look really funky.  I don't use this adhesive anymore and neither will I ever buy it again.

Palmer's CoCoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks

Palmer's CoCoa  Butter Formula Massage Lotion ROCKS!  I bought this when I was about four months into my pregnancy.  On the bottle it says to use in a circular motion and massage into areas prone to stretch marks morning and evening.  Most of the time I forget to use the lotion even though it's in the bathroom.  I only use it maybe once or twice a week and when I do use it I only put it on in the morning and forget to put it on in the evening.

Though I seldom use the lotion I can still see a dramatic change in the coloring of my stretch marks after I take a shower when I do use it.  Most of my first stretch marks that began appearing during my fourth month into pregnancy are almost transparent like they were never there.  My stretch marks are mainly around my thighs, behind my knee caps, and two little blotches on my sides.  Just recently I scratched under my belly with some fake nails and thanks to that I'm having little stretch marks under my belly now.  Because of the fake nails incident I started using the lotion under my belly.  They're still there but they get lighter and lighter every time I use the lotion.

The only bad thing about the lotion is the after feeling.  It has sticky after feel.  The closest thing I can think of to the feeling of the lotion is a hot humid day that makes you sweaty and sticky.  I think that's why I don't use it at night because I can feel it on my body and I can't fall asleep.  Other than the sticky after feeling it works wonders.  If you do use this I would suggest putting it on only during the day.  However, if you do use it at night you might want to put something in between the areas you put the lotion on so you don't feel the stickiness or feel like your skins stuck together.

27 Weeks Pregnant

They say that at twenty seven weeks your baby can suck his fingers and hiccup.  He can open and close his eyes and wake up at regular intervals and you begin to have leg cramps as your uterus grows.  All I have to say is that it's all true, which sucks but is true.

The first time I felt him hiccup I was kind of disturbed.  I wasn't sure what it was or if there was something wrong.  I ended up jumping on the internet and found out it was just my baby hiccuping.  I giggled at myself thinking how stupid it was of me to freak out.  But I guess it never hurts to be on the safe side.  =)

Baby definitely wakes up at certain intervals.  In my earlier months he stayed up kicking during the day and stayed still at night most of the time.  Now he's not very active during the day but kicks up a storm starting right around six or seven.  I can feel him moving across my belly so I end up staying up most of the night with my hand over my belly feeling his movements.  It's a really funky but yet a cool feeling when I see and feel him moving across my belly.

The worse thing people think about being pregnant would be waking up three to four times in the middle of the night just to use the bathroom.  However, going to the bathroom isn't even half as bad as getting leg cramps during the night or having your feet swell up to the size of a pumpkin.  Leg cramps are common because of the pressure from the uterus on your blood vessels but its not that bad if you know how to handle leg cramps.  I've only had one or two since my pregnancy so I don't mind it but what I hate more than anything is the swelling in my feet.  The swelling of your feet is also due to the pressure from the growing uterus and your feet and ankles swell up.  The only thing I've been able to do to not have my feet swell so bad is lay on my sides which takes some pressure off my veins.

Even though being pregnant is a pain I would never trade it for anything in the world.  Being pregnant is a gift and I don't intend to waste all my time being upset about how my body's reacting to my growing baby.  All I can do is be happy that he's almost here and I'm going to be able to hold him soon.  I can't wait! =)

Gone Fishing

Thumbs up for people who love fishing! =)

My husband and a few of his work buddies went fishing yesterday after work.  We didn't get that many mainly because we got there kind of late and his work buddies were loud and scared away all the fishes.  We had to run all over town buying stuff so that Phat could go fishing.

Wal-Mart:
sunscreen, Styrofoam cooler (for fishes), Styrofoam minnow bucket, fishing license
$30.00

Conoco Gas Station:
Crappie Minnows
$3.00

Spending time with your loved ones...PRICELESS...

 At the Arkansas River

Lao's First Catch is a White Bass

White Bass, Blue Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and a Channel Catfish

We didn't get back home until 1:00 AM.  By the time we got done showering and got ready for bed it was already 2:00 AM.  Even though I didn't fish I still had fun watching.
