Lorac Tie Dye For Gloss Review

What are your thoughts on tie dye? Honestly I don’t like anything tie dyed but I do love Lorac.  I came across the Lorac Tie Dye For Gloss a few months back on HAUTELOOK.  When I purchased them I didn’t really know what to expect because I had never owned any lip glosses from Lorac before.  Anyways I got them a few months ago and I have been trying them out until I felt comfortable enough to do a review on them.
(top-bottom) In The Mix, Social Mixer, Shocking Twist, Flaming Mix, Berry Blender

I got all five in a set for I think $10.00 on HAUTELOOK. I’m not really sure because I did purchase them a few months ago so don’t quote me on the price. The colors I got in the set are In The Mix, Social Mixer, Shocking Twist, Flaming Mix, and Berry Blender. If you even for one second thought that these were like any other lip glosses you are completely wrong.  All five colors are well pigmented but you can apply them with a light hand for a less intense look.

(L-R) In the Mix, Social Mixer, Shocking Twist, Flaming Mix, Berry Blender
Two of the colors in the set are colors I probably would never use unless it’s Halloween or something along those lines but they are none the less all gorgeous colors.  Like I said the pigmentation is great and they go on very nicely without feeling sticky.  They smell kind of like a lipstick would but other than that I don’t think the smell is that bad. I would really recommend these if you’re a person who likes liquid lipsticks or if you just don’t like the feeling of lipstick by itself on your lips.

TIP: Definitely use a chap stick of some sort to moisturize your lips before applying the gloss.

January Julep Maven & Birchbox

I was kind of disappointed with January’s JULEP Maven box.  I don’t normally check my email so I basically didn’t even know what I was getting in this month’s Julep Maven box.  However, I did receive 4 nail varnishes but sadly I don’t like most of the colors or I already own a different nail varnish that looks similar to them.

Megan(blue), Hayden(light orange), Leah(turquoise green), Demi(red)
The 4 colors that I received were Megan, Hayden,Leah, and Demi. I liked Megan but I already own a Zoya nail polish that I received in my BIRCHBOX a few months ago that looks exactly the same. Hayden I don’t think I could ever use.  It’s like a puke like yellow-orange which is a strange color to describe it as but that’s my honest opinion every time I look at it.  I’m not exactly in favor of the color but I guess I’ll wait till spring or summer to use it and see if it looks a little better. Leah is a gorgeous, bright, turquoise green color. It’s a perfect color for spring and right into summer so I can’t wait to use it.  Demi on the other hand is a color I don’t think I would ever use.  Sadly I’m not a big fan of red nails whether it be on my fingers or toes I would never use such a color. It’s just too bold of a color for me and I don’t even know anyone who still uses red varnishes so I’m kind of just stuck with it.

My January BIRCHBOX however, was something I was looking forward to.  I had watched a few videos on this month’s box before I even received mine so I was really excited about it arriving.  Sadly I always get my Birchbox towards the middle of the month so by then there are a million or so videos on what everyone else already received. I’m just glad my came like normal unlike last month.

The most exciting item in my box was the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in the color Purple Tang. It’s a very deep purple color with purple glitters.  Next is the Borghese CuraForte Moisture intensifier.  I like to use this right under my eyes because it does get a little dry and my makeup tends to crease when I don’t use a lot of moisturizer even when I prime them with Urban Decays Primer Potion. I also received the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy perfume sample. I don’t mind getting perfume samples but I don’t like getting them every month because I can get free perfume samples from Sephora. I’m not bashing Birchbox but I’m just being honest. I received the Joer Body Butter which I do not like at all. It is just way too overpowering with the smell of gardenias. The last thing I received which is actually the extra is the Larabar Mini Bar in the flavor Coconut Cream Pie.  If you read my blog on what I got last month in my INFLUENSTER Voxbox you would know I got a Larabar too.  Different flavors obviously but none the less it was a Larabar, both of which were delicious.

I enjoy getting both subscription boxes each month because more times than not you get more than your money’s worth.  If you would like to join Julep I’ll leave a link HERE and if you would like to join Birchbox I’ll leave a link HERE.

Thanks for reading! I’ll see you guys later!

Julep Maven Box Number Two (December 2011)

Okay, I've been putting off a lot of things for the past few months so I'm trying to catch up.  I got my December Julep Maven Box at the beginning of December but didn't have any time to write a blog on what I received so here it is.

I received two nail varnishes Helena(megenta color) and the clear top coat.  To me Helena wasn't exactly a color that I would put on my nails because it's too bright of a color.  However I still tried it out on one of my finger nails just to see how it looked.  It wasn't exactly a pretty sight so I ended up removing it.  I haven't yet tried it on my toe nails but when I get around to it I'll definately update you guys.

I also received the Julep Nail Appliques and a red glitter pot for my nails.  I too have not tried these two out so I'll definitely try these out as soon as I possibly can.  I will be receiving my January Julep Maven box soon so I'll be doing reviews on all of these soon.  Stay tuned for a more in depth review and more future blogs!

Emilie & Sienna Review + Glycolic Hand Scrub Review

I know this review is long past due but I wanted to put it up anyways for those who love nails.  I received all three of these products in my Julep Maven box back in November.  If you didn't read my first post on Julep I'll leave a link HERE. It's an amazing site with amazing products so check it out if you love nails as much as I do.

On to the review! I received two nail varnishes Emilie(green) and Sienna(gold) back in November.  Emilie seemed to be a color that I would definitely put on my nails but not so much Sienna.  I never really was a fan of gold nails.  However I tried them both out anyways just to see how they looked.  I ended up liking Sienna just as much as I liked Emilie.  The colors look exactly the same on your nails as they do in the bottle which is pretty nice. The nail varnish itself is a little bit on the runnier side but they are still very opaque once applied.  I did apply two coats when I put them on just in case. I'm one of those people who once my nails start chipping I remove the nail polish. I first tested one of each color on my middle and pointy toe nails just to see how long they would last.  Then I did my actual hands.  It took a little over a week for the nail varnishes to start chipping. As for my toe nails the color is still there even after a month or so.  The only missing nail color is where my nails have grown in and the parts that I've clipped off since then.  All in all I really like these nail varnishes.

The Glycolic Hand Scrub is just as amazing as the nail varnishes themselves. Every time I use the glycolic hand scrub I feel the difference in my skin.  My hands feel so much softer and look much more healthy. On the days that I don't use it my hands feel dry, they look duller, and don't feel as soft. I've really fallen in love with this product.  Once mine diminishes I'll probably end up getting a whole new one from Julep.

*Sorry I didn't take a separate photo of the Glycolic Hand Scrub. I'll make sure to do that as soon as I can.*

I received the X Out Wash-In Treatment in my INFLUENSTER Holiday Voxbox as a bonus product at the beginning of the month.  I didn't exactly know what to expect from this product but I had high hopes for it even though I don't really have breakouts.  I tried it a few nights after receiving my Voxbox when a big fat pimple popped up on my cheek and so I decided to test the product out.  My face felt rather dried out after I tried out the X-Out wash-in treatment.  I'm not sure if it was because of my combination skin or what not but I couldn't even raise my eyebrows because my forehead and cheeks were so dry.  I ended up using a moisturizer but I did notice that the following morning my pimple that made an appearance on my cheek had reduced greatly in size.  You almost couldn't even see it anymore.  I did enjoy this product and I intend to introduce the X Out Wash-In Treatment to my brothers because they have rather oily skin so this might work out quite well for them.

TIPS: Definitely use a moisturizer afterwards.

VERDICT: It does the job of getting rid of pimples but if you have dry skin or combination skin you might need a moisturizer afterwards and you may not be able to use it that often.  Those with oily skin this product may show you some rather good results if you use enough or when you need it.

*SORRY I do not have a photo at this time being that I left it at mothers house when I went there for Christmas. I will have a photo up as soon as I get it. Thank You!*
